Process

How a nonprofit website project works

Six stages, each with a clear approval, planned around volunteer schedules and board meetings.

1. Brief and quote

You tell us what the group does, what the current site does or doesn't do, and any dates that matter. We reply with questions, then a written quote listing the pages, the tools we connect, what we need from you and a target launch date. Nothing starts until someone with authority to approve accepts it.

2. Page plan

We list every page and sketch the main ones: home, donate, volunteer, events and about. One person on your side collects feedback from the board or committee and sends it back in one reply, which keeps the project moving.

3. Design draft

We design the home page and one inner page, usually donate or events, with your colors, logo and photos. Contrast and type sizes are checked at this stage, so accessibility is built in from the start.

4. Build and content

We build the site on a private preview address, add your text, connect the donation, sign-up and event tools, and set up the editor for the parts volunteers will change.

5. Testing

We go through every main page with a keyboard, a screen reader, a large zoom setting and a phone. We make a test gift if your processor has a test mode, send test sign-ups and check that every email lands with the right person. You get the preview link to try it yourselves.

6. Launch and handover

We connect your domain, set up redirects from any old pages and send a short editing guide written for volunteers. Logins go to accounts in the group's name, so access doesn't leave when one volunteer moves on.

What sets the pace

Most delays come from approvals and content. Boards meet monthly, photos need permission, and program descriptions need someone to sign off. Tell us your meeting dates in the brief and we'll line up each approval with one, or plan a smaller first launch with home, donate and events, and add the rest after.
